It became the first objective of the team in Hong Kong to make sure that even if not everyone actually joins in and plays Capoeira at least they would know what it is.

Together with a small team of local Hong Kong enthusiasts, some of whom had previously trained Capoeira abroad, Chumbinho took the team to start introducing Capoeira to the Chinese people. To the surprise of the team it was well accepted and liked.
From having some fun playing and training together in the parks and holding Rodas on the streets they soon were asked to take part in events for charity and youth organisations. Through these avenues the sport of Capoeira started to get some recognition and also caight the eye of the local media.
Newspapers, magazines and even TV gave massive support to the sport helping more and more people know about Capoeira, its fundamentals and its culture.

Over the years Group Capoeira Brazil in Hong Kong has appeared on many TV shows including TVB's "2006 Mr. Hong Kong" Compitition, "On The First Beat" a drama staring Joey Young and Kenny Kwan and many events organised by TVB for sports and gala events. More importantly than this GCBHK has been involved with many organisations for charity and youth such as Youth Arts Foundation, Sedan Chair Charities, Scouts Association, Discovery and Renaisance Colleges and LCSD.

Now with our main academy in Yau Tsim Mong district as well as our junior instructors teaching in other offsite locations, GCBHK is growing to new heights especially after graduating local Hong Kong players to become instructors of the sport and culture that is Capoeira.

 info@capoeira.hk = 9197 4429 = 3484 2936 = www.capoeira.hk
Unit D 1/F Shek On Building 104 Cheung Sha Wan Road Sham Shu Po
